CESL (Convergence Energy Services Limited), a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), under the ‘Grand Challenge’ has announced the floating of a request for proposals for the highly demanded electric buses across five major cities. As a part of the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, this challenge aims to reduce the operating costs for the cities by removing the bottlenecks of procuring e-buses by Stae Transport Undertakings. This will also enable passenger efficiency by evolving in a platform for city bus modernization. The cities to be covered are Surat, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Hyderabad in the first phase.
