Envision will double the number of battery cells in each car, increasing the vehicle’s weight but also increasing its driving range. It also plans to raise production capacity by a factor of ten by the end of this decade. Envision plans to begin construction on a new plant in Ibaraki Prefecture, near Tokyo, in 2024. Envision also wants to put their all-solid-state battery on the market. By the late 2020s, it plans to boost the production capacity of all-solid-state batteries and lithium-ion batteries to a level equivalent to more than 1.1 million electric vehicles in Japan, China, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States.
