The Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) has reportedly ordered one 10-metre air-conditioned double-decker electric bus for the twin city. The E-Bus will be a 65-seater. A charging station will be installed at one of the bus depots. Currently, the NMMT has around 150 electric buses. The BEST undertaking in Mumbai had announced that they will procure 900 electric double-decker buses on rent for 12 years. The work order states that the electric buses will be entirely new and of the best quality and workmanship and would be procured along with the erection of a charging station. The bus will also be highly energy-efficient and shall not contribute to pollution levels.
