According to a report published by JMK Research and Analytics, India witnessed a record breaking 50,866 new EV registrations in December 2021 compared to previous year. These figures were driven by electric 2 wheelers and 3-wheelers, which accounted for almost 90% of the total sales in the country. The study also claims that Uttar Pradesh (23%) topped the charts wrt maximum electric vehicles sold followed by Maharashtra (13%), Karnataka (9%), Rajasthan (7%), Delhi (7%) and Tamil Nadu (7%). This growth comes on the back of excellent policies and subsidies provided by the Indian Government.
