MG Motor plans to release an electric microcar for global markets based on the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture’s Mini EV platform. The first foreign market would be India. Although it is supposed to be built on the Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, the vehicle’s actual dimensions are unknown. Apart from the Wuling subcompact, the platform is also used in Baojun vehicles, which come in E100, E200, E300, and E300 Plus trim levels. The car will be offered for a million rupees ($11,900), or one million rupees. That’s less than half the cost of the MG ZS EV, which is now available in India for €26,000.
