The Tesla Model Y attempted to capitalize on the Model 3’s red-hot success, but the all-electric crossover is more fizzle than sizzle. Whereas the Model 3 nails its purpose with dance-like driving and remarkable range, the 2022 Model Y appears like a haphazard attempt to appeal to SUV buyers. Its handling is less engaging than the 3’s, and its cabin, while mostly carried over from the sedan, doesn’t do enough to differentiate itself, exacerbating our critique of both its fit-and-finish and the issues that the all-digital environment generates. It is not without worth, however. When compared to competitors such as the Ford Mustang Mach E and the Volkswagen ID.4, its estimated driving range is good, and the Long Range variant claims up to 330 miles per charge. Furthermore, the Tesla has an optional third row of seats, which is still uncommon in the world of EVs and SUVs.

Built Around the Driver
The driver has a commanding view of the road ahead thanks to the elevated seating position and low dash. Model Y’s interior is simple and sleek, with a 15-inch touch screen, immersive sound system, and an enormous all-glass roof that allows greater headroom and a seamless view of the sky.
The expansive Glass Roof offers passengers a brighter, more spacious experience as well as a panoramic view of the sky. Even when the sun is directly overhead, infrared and ultraviolet rays are successfully prevented before entering the cabin, decreasing heat and glare.
On the large 15-inch touchscreen, you can see everything, including high-definition side and rearview camera views, navigation, movies, music, games, and more. While driving, your surroundings are displayed in real-time to show speed limit signs, forthcoming traffic control signals, pedestrians, cyclists, and hazards in a 360-degree surround view.
Charge two phones at the same time on a non-slip, curved surface. With two front and two rear USB charging connections, tiered storage under the armrest, and a folding privacy barrier to conceal your phones, the integrated centre console provides plenty of storage space.
All Vegan Interior
Our custom-engineered seating material is fully vegan and significantly more sustainable than traditional seating materials, maximising comfort and aesthetics while maintaining our rigorous standards for durability and stain resistance. It is softer than leather but far more durable and stain-resistant.
Up to Seven Seats
Model Y offers greatest adaptability, with the ability to transport 7 passengers and their luggage. Each rear seat folds flat individually, allowing for versatile storage of skis, furniture, baggage, and other items. The liftgate opens to reveal a low trunk floor, making loading and unloading simple and quick.
Advanced Climate Control
Airflow and temperature are totally controlled via the display, allowing for perfect control without ever seeing or touching a real vent. On warmer days, Cabin Overheat Protection keeps interiors cool, and our HEPA filtration technology provides the greatest cabin air quality available. Pre-conditioning immediately warms the cabin and prepares the car’s battery to maximize range and efficiency in cold conditions.
From the Ground Up
Tesla vehicles, according to their all-electric architecture, have an extremely minimal danger of rollover and occupant damage.
The position and weight lessen the chance of a rollover and improve emergency handling.
The chassis is supported by a unique side sill structure, which absorbs impact energy and protects the occupants and battery.
The robust body and reinforced batteries aid in reducing and preventing cabin infiltration.
Large empty spaces in the front and back lessen the impact, lowering the risk of injury to occupants.
Less interior intrusion allows airbags to fully inflate and protect passengers.
Eight cameras and advanced vision processing provide 360-degree visibility, identifying surrounding things such as people, bikers, and automobiles.
For Every Tesla
Active safety measures, powered by Tesla’s Autopilot technology, can assist minimise impact severity or prevent accidents altogether.

Safer Over Time
Every mile you drive can contribute to improve your and others’ safety. We can analyze real-world scenarios from our worldwide fleet of over a million Tesla vehicles and billions of kilometers driven on Autopilot to learn how collisions happen and how to help lessen or prevent them in the future. Our most recent additions and enhancements are available immediately thanks to over-the-air software updates.
Tesla battery packs are engineered to disperse heat away from the occupant cabin and battery in rare events of damage, helping to prevent fires and safeguard occupants. From 2012 to 2020, Tesla automobiles were nearly ten times less likely to catch fire per mile travelled than ordinary gas vehicles in the United States.
Tesla designs our vehicles to exceed safety regulations, whether in the Tesla safety lab or outside in inclement weather. Tesla’s mission is to always improve safety and occupant protection.

Electric vehicles are less expensive to fuel than gasoline-powered vehicles
Estimated gas savings over 6 years $7,800
Electric automobiles consume less fuel than gasoline-powered vehicles. The average person drives 10,000 to 15,000 miles each year and spends between $1,700 and $2,500 on gasoline. In comparison, the cost of powering Model Y over the same distance is up to four times lower. That equates to between $7,800 and $11,400 in gasoline savings during the usual six-year car ownership period.
We’ve assumed a comparable gasoline-powered automobile gets 25.0 miles per gallon. Over the following six years, we’ve also projected a national average of $0.14 per kilowatt-hour for domestic electricity (assuming 100% charging) and $4.18 per gallon for gasoline. Tesla efficiency figures are calculated using the Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive.
Gasoline comparison vehicles are chosen based on vehicle class, seating size, and standard amenities. Using each vehicle’s combined city/highway MPG and MPGe ratings, we compare efficiency data between our automobiles and a comparable gasoline alternative using the EPA estimated range criteria. The actual range may differ depending on factors such as speed, weather, and elevation change.
Model Y consumption rating = 28.0 kWh/100mi
Comparison car consumption rating = 25.0 mpg
Allows your vehicle to autonomously steer, accelerate, and brake for other vehicles and pedestrians in its lane. Advanced safety and convenience features, as well as driver assistance features like emergency braking, collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring, are designed to help you with the most difficult aspects of driving.
Charge everywhere there is power. The Mobile Connector Bundle with a 110V household outlet can be utilised to top off the most used range for daily driving, or upgrade to a 220V Tesla Wall Connector for the ultimate home charging experience. Model Y can add up to 162 miles of range in just 15 minutes utilising Tesla’s Supercharger network, getting you back on the road faster.
With periodic wireless software upgrades, Model Y improves with time, providing you additional features, more entertainment, improved performance and range, increased comfort, and even better safety.
When left alone, your Tesla is protected by continuous 360° monitoring. Enabling Sentry Mode initiates a “Standby” state, similar to that of many home alarm systems, and employs the car’s external cameras to identify and protect against any threats.
The all-new Live Camera, which is available with Premium Connectivity, allows you to remotely observe your car’s surroundings when parked, as well as honk, flash, and speak through the car’s speaker. Tesla cannot access Live Camera since it is end-to-end encrypted.
The Model Y has 76 cubic feet of cargo space, which is available via both the front trunk and the rear trunk, which opens and closes automatically. Taking advantage of space previously occupied by cumbersome engines, petrol tanks, and gearboxes, the Model Y’s design allows for disproportionately large amounts of storage for a car its size while improving occupant safety through a more spacious, strengthened body and chassis.
Tesla Mobile App
Remotely controls and monitors your Tesla using Phone Key keyless driving, range and charging status, climate control, live GPS location, and other features. You may even schedule servicing and monitor your complete Tesla ecosystem, including Powerwall and Solar Roof power flow.
